Wendle Court 1

This property has a beautiful, natural setting surrounded by trees with a stream running through the back of the property. My first inspiration was to embrace the natural setting. I worked closely with the architect, Charles Moorhead, with choosing exterior design features, paint colours and collaborating on marrying the outside with the interiors.

soft warm greys + cool taupe

My vision for the entire project was to include warm greys, cool taupes and contemporary look yet not excessively modern. There are 10′ ceilings on the main floor. I wanted to maximize the storage in the kitchen and opted for cabinets to the ceiling. Choosing Silestone’s ocean series for the countertop pulled the grey/taupe combination together beautifully. Although the wall cabinets were painted white I choose a rich grey for the island cabinets. That, along with the horizontal glass backsplash created a cohesive look in the kitchen. 5″ walnut hardwood floors throughout the main floor added to the natural woodsy feel. I almost exclusively choose polished chrome for bath and kitchen fixtures. They are always timeless and sophisticated. A soft warm grey wall colour with white contrasting trim finished it off nicely.

Projects

My work is such an important part of my day and life. As well as running my companies, I also take on solo interior design projects. From brainstorming with other designers to pulling together finishes and fixtures for a project, I love every part of the design process.
