Aspens
Our family has always enjoyed an outdoor lifestyle and we have been blessed to live in such an incredible place. Between our city and mountain homes we, including our kids and now grandkids, have spent many happy days enjoying what British Columbia has to offer. When we aren’t enjoying our homes in Whistler and Vancouver, we offer them for visitors to rent.
Scandinavian Feel
Changing from dark, “Whistler Lodge” decor to something lighter and brighter with a Scandinavian feel was the criteria for this project. I would have loved hardwood floors but the strata rules said NO. A nice neutral, low pile carpet was chosen to co-ordinate with my favourite paint colour. (It is a custom colour that Sherwin Williams created for me.) The colour is a warm light grey that I find works in just about any environment.
I really wanted a grey kitchen with a horizontal grain and from there the project unfolded naturally. I fell in love with the tile for the bathroom. It has a bit of a retro feel yet will be current in years to come. From there it was all about texture and layering with some accents of light wood.
Projects
My work is such an important part of my day and life. As well as running my companies, I also take on solo interior design projects. From brainstorming with other designers to pulling together finishes and fixtures for a project, I love every part of the design process.
